Indie News: Muse; "Uprising" è il primo singolo del nuovo album "The Resistance"

Da stamattina molti network radiofonici nazionali hanno iniziato a trasmettere il nuovo singolo dei Muse, "Uprising", tratto dal loro nuovo album "The Resistance" che sarà disponibile dall'11 settembre 2009. Oltre al nuovo singolo, la band ha anche pubblicato sul proprio sito ufficiale la copertina dell'album, facendo così prendere sempre più forma al progetto di Matt Bellamy e soci, un disco che molto probabilmente seguirà la scia del suo predecessore "Black Holes And Revelations" verso un sound sempre più elettronico. Indie News: Album Solista per Julian Casablancas

Dopo Albert Hammond Jr. , Fabrizio Moretti e Nikolai Fraiture, un altro componente degli Strokes, il cantante Julian Casablancas, pubblicherà un album solista, diventando così il quarto "Stroke" a tentare l'avventura indipendente. L'artistra infatti starebbe ultimando in questi giorni i lavori per il suo debutto, il cui titolo sarà "Phrazes for the young".
L'uscità del disco è attesa per l'autunno ed è stato registrato tra varie location tra cui Los angeles, Omaha (Nebraska) e New York, città natale del cantante. Oltre al disco, Casablancas ha anche annunciato l'intenzione di voler portare in tour il suo lavoro, con una serie di live che inizierà probabilmente entro la fine del 2009. in basso troverete il video dell'anteprima dell'album, buona visione!

Questa volta parliamo dei Franz Ferdinand, una delle band indie rock più famose di questo decennio. La band viene formata nel 2003 a Glasgow (Scozia) da Alex Kapranos (voce e chitarra), Bob Hardy (basso), Nick McCarthy (chitarra, voce e tastiera) e Paul Thomson (batteria e cori). Clip of the week: n°3 11/06/2009

Ciao a tutti! eccomi qui con un nuovo "clip of the week". Protagonisti di questa settimana sono i The Wombats, band di liverpool formata da Mattew Murphy (voce, chitarra e tastiera) Dan Haggies (basso) e Tord Øverland-Knudsen (batteria). I tre ragazzi si incontrano al Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts. Questa scuola gli diede la possibilità di poter suonare ad un concerto in Cina. Ed infatti mentre in patria erano praticamente sconosciuti, proprio in Estremo Oriente la band iniziò ad ottenere consensi, specialmente dopo la pubblicazione di un album in Giappone chiamato "Girls, Boys and Marsupials" . La band rilascerà poi una seconda edizione limitata in vinile chiamata "Moving to New York" nel Gennaio del 2007. I singoli contenuti in questo disco ottengono ottime critiche dai DJ radiofonici inglesi. A maggio dello stesso anno i Wombats rilasciano il loro terzo singolo chiamato "Backfire at the Disco", che fa guadagnare successo al gruppo anche in patria. Il video è del loro ultimo singolo "'Let's Dance To Joy Division'" rilasciato nell'Ottobre del 2007, data che coincide con l'uscita del loro album di debutto "A Guide To Love, Loss And Dsperation", un album indie rock molto catchy e divertente che consiglio di ascoltare. Indie Rewind n°2: Dinosaur Jr. : Little Fury Things (1987)

Ciao a tutti! eccoci qui con un nuovo "Indie Rewind". Questa volta parliamo di una delle band più importanti della scena indie rock degli anni 80, i Dinosaur Jr.
La band viene formata ad Amherst (Massachusetts) nel 1983 da J Mascis (voce, chitarra) Lou Barlow (basso) e Murph (batteria). Questa band è riuscita a unire l'hardcore e il punk con il classic rock, dando vita ad un sound originale e innovativo, una sorta di ponte tra gli anni '80 e '90 che avrà un influenza enorme su un gruppo che rivoluzionerà il rock degli anni che seguiranno; i Nirvana. Il video è della canzone "Little Fury Thing" , singolo estratto dell'album "You're living all over me" del 1987. Buona Visione!

Clip Of The Week n°3 24/05/2009

Hi everyone! ecco a voi un nuovo clip of the week, questa volta dedicato ai Marlene Kuntz, band alternative rock di Cuneo formata nel lontano 1987. La formazione attuale è composta da Cristiano Godano (voce e chitarra) Riccardo Tesio (chitarra), Luca Bergia (Batteria e Cori), Luca Saporiti (basso) e Davide Arneoldo (Tastiere). Il loro sound è ispirato principalmente dai Sonic Youth, Nick Cave e dal noise rock in generale. La canzone nel video è "Uno", singolo estratto dall'albumo omonimo del 2007 e inclusa anche nel "Best Of" uscito nel gennaio del 2009, personalmente un brano eccezionale, autentica poesia.
